This Ain't No Heartland

Andreas Horvath
In April 2003, while the war with Iraq was at its peak, Andreas Horvath went to the 'heart' of America, engaging in conversations with locals. As the film progresses the reputedly friendly Heartland, regarded by many as the true America, turns into a vast and remote hinterland. In this secluded part of the world the real war in Iraq is inevitably more distant than the vague projections of war in Demolition Derbies and Civil War Reenactments.
