DOCUMENTARY

Widerstand im Haiderland

Frederick Baker
The swearing-in of Austria’s conservative/right-wing coalition government in February 2000 set off mass demonstrations that later developed into a milestone of international demonstration culture. For more than two years, the Thursday Demonstrations crossed the city of Vienna. Ten years later, this documentary takes stock, creating an arc from the mass media’s key statements concerning the highlights of demonstration culture to Haider’s funeral in Carinthia.
