OSCARS 2007: Stefan Ruzowitzky’s  The Counterfeiters is one of the five nominees competing for the Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category. The drama focussing on Salomon Sorowitsch, an extraordinary counterfeiter involved as a Nazi prisoner in one of the biggest counterfeit operations in history, premiered in Berlin’s Competition last year.

The other contenders are:  Beaufort (Israel), Mongol (Kazakhstan), Katyn (Poland) and 12 by Nikita Mikhalkov (Russia). The ceremony for the 80^th Academy Awards will take place on February 24. more
