Seven Austrian films selected for Karlovy Vary’s 47th festival line-up, two of them in competion: Timo Novotny’s new documentary Trains of Thoughts and Hüseyin Tabak’s first feature Your Beauty is Worth Nothing. Tizza Covi will be one of the five jury members of the documentary competition.

The twelve-year old migrant Veysel and his family have a hard time to become integrated into Austrian life. They have more and more inner-family-oriented problems. Veysels neighbour Cem teaches him how to pronounce a poem in German for school. At the time when Veysel wants to take the courage to recite it to his secret love Ana the foreign-police upsets his plans.

Trains of Thoughts is an audio-visual essay, which reflects upon and compares metro-systems around the world. It is an exploration of a world inside the world as well as the feelings fascination, obsession, fear, and themes of survival, control and silence that revolve it. The film will take you through New York, Los Angeles, Moscow, Vienna, Tokyo and Hongkong, unleashing the imagination at every destination with its distinctive palette of visuals and selection.
