Documentary film-makers Helmut Voitl and Elisabeth Guggenberger survived the 2004 Sri Lanka tsunami. Acting out of compassion for the victims of two fishing villages, they set up an aid initiative to help 400 families. Following the path of so many NGO-projects, their two-year aid project was swamped in the quagmire of local political and sectarian conflicts. This relentlessly stark film about the dark side of 'helping' eschews all romanticism.
