The Austrian Artist VALIE EXPORT, who passed away in May 2026, was not only a pioneer of media- and performance art, but also a trailblazer for other women artists and the feminist art-movement. Claudia Müller’s film “VALIE EXPORT. The Armed Eye” focuses on EXPORT’s key role as a mentor and curator and on her iconic exhibition “MAGNA” (1975) she re-created for this cinema documentary in which she interweaves her own work with that of other female artists to a powerful statement of achievements of women in art history.
