THE KLEZMER PROJECT wins Berlinale Best First Feature Award

Leandro Koch and Paloma Schachmann’s feature debut THE KLEZMER PROJECT, a Berlinale Encounters entry, wins the GWFF Best First Feature Award.

The documentary voyage from Argentina to Eastern Europa in a quest of a music which is in a constant state of flux was produced by Austrian Nabis Filmgroup and Cine Nevada from Argentina.

This is the statement of the jury composed by Judith Revauld d'Alonnes, Ayten Amin and Cyril Schäublin:

The GWFF Best First Feature Award goes to a film that takes us on an unexpected journey weaving real life events and mysticism. It is a contemporary tale frequently surprising with the filmmaker’s openness towards new encounters. The film uncovers traces of a disappearing world and shows that music descends borders of identity. The award goes to Adentro mío estoy bailando by Leandro Koch and Paloma Schachmann.
