A boy ill with cancer, who calls himself Sarah, lives out the last days of his life with an 82-year-old former actress suffering from dementia. With a nurse as mediator, the seemingly odd pair languish in the old lady's apartment. Together – at times clashing, at others profoundly united – they defy the dictates of convention and sorrow. With heads held high, they march toward a self-determined exodus.
