THE WHITE RIBBON also  wins the Cannes FIPRESCI AWARD

 

Cannes FIPRESCI-jury agrees with Isabelle Huppert's festival jury: further to Cannes’ top prize Michael Haneke's The White Ribbon was also awarded the FIPRESCI-award for best film in competition and a Special Mention by the jury of the Prix oeucuménique.

 

The Cannes Critics  Prizes  


at the Cannes International Film Festival
(May 13-24,  2009)
a jury of FIPRESCI presented three  prizes.  

Prize to a film in competition: 
     "The White Ribbon" (Das  weisse Band) by Michael Haneke
     (Germany,  Austria, France, Italy, 2009).   

Prize to a film in the section Un Certain Regard: 
     "Police, Adjective"  (Politist, Adjectiv) by Corneliu Porumboiu 
     (Romania, 2009).   

Prize to a film in the parallel sections Directors'  Fortnight or Critics' Week:
      "Amreeka" by Cherien  Dabis
     (presented in the Directors'  Fortnight)
     (USA, Canada, 2009).
