Since men would rather share her bed than a meal, and Martha would rather cook for them than go on a date, she has given up trying to find a man long ago. When her sister dies in a car accident, Martha's life changes abruptly. She becomes the guardian of her seven-year-old niece. Martha decides to take the girl in until her father can be found.
